The Competency Fabric is Habi's own framework for Learning and Development. Every LXD is a unique combination of interwoven competencies, sharing common strands of professional skills, leadership, and culture and values. We use the Fabric to help guide our project casting, tier conversations upskilling needs, and professional development plans.
We learn to upgrade our skills, enhancing our abilities to design better learning experiences. We also learn to keep ourselves updated and critical, informing our perspectives about education and research. We also learn to have fun, it's a delightful activity that stimulates us to improve. Here are some of our usual practices:
Whether formal (like a lecture/workshop) or informal (like a discussion over beers), we have a practice of sharing what we know to our team. Sometimes it's a new book that someone read, or a very fascinating seminar that someone wants to share. It can be a new skill acquired from a project, too! It's also a good way to practice facilitation skills and explore different styles of creating materials. These Habi X Habi sessions are open to the whole team, and usually scheduled during Fridays.

Every quarter, mayroon tayong 1-2hour learning activity which is a rock in our calendar so everyone can join. The purpose of Learning day is to advance individual or team skills toward Habi's purpose. This can be hosted by Habi or by inviting external speakers to collaborate.
